GRAN CANARIA WINE ROUTE ASSOCIATION


The Gran Canaria Wine Route Association (RVGC) has been set up on the island of Gran Canaria as a territorial and multi-sectoral action for the promotion and development of tourism and wine culture and its wine-growing landscape in the territorial area of the Gran Canaria Wines Denomination of Origin.

 

This Association will act as the Management Body of the Gran Canaria Wine Route and will coordinate joint actions between the different agents involved in the implementation and development of tourism through the culture of wine and its landscape. Including the participation of Local Corporations, Business Associations and the private sector, such as wineries, restaurants, accommodation, shops, wine shops, wine bars, specialised guides and tourist intermediaries. Among other agents in the tourist and cultural fields and with an influence on the socio-economic development of the territory, the landscape and the primary sector.

OBJECTIVES


The general objective of the non-profit Association is to contribute through wine tourism to the economic, social and cultural development of the island as a whole, with the following specific objectives:

 

a) To guide, manage, promote and support the commercialisation of the cultural product of tourist interest, the Wine Route of Gran Canaria.

b) To raise the awareness of the establishments that are members of the Route in order to enter the tourist market by providing technical support, advice and promotion.

c) To ensure compliance, by its members, of the requirements established in the internal rules of the Wine Route of Gran Canaria and of the Product Manuals that it may adopt.

d) To promote and development of wine tourism.

 

And with the following tasks:

 

a) To promote and encourage coordinated wine tourism policies in the area of Gran Canaria.

b) To coordinate tourism and wine interlocutors in Gran Canaria with the aim of establishing a policy of cooperation and fostering synergies in all actions, raising awareness among all agents regarding the development of wine tourism.

c) To participate in the promotion and dynamisation of wine culture on an island, regional, national and international level.

d) To promote and manage the development and implementation of the established management requirements in order to configure a sustainable quality product and destination on the Island.

e) To obtain all those distinctions that can give prestige to the territory of the Denomination of Origin Wines of Gran Canaria.
